In my opinion, one can get much from volunteering. Doing something so noble for someone else; arouses the sensation of kindness and gratification. Although, the main motivation is because of the scholarship, but it certainly has that outcome. It is very inspirational to volunteer, to spend time talking and encouraging those struggling students. I feel like I make them feel better, while give them affection and attention, since, after all, our time is the most valuable thing we can give each other. Volunteering helps me forget about my own issues for a while because at that time I have to focus on somebody else’s problems.
I do not deny that I am having a tough time trying to manage raising my baby girl and going to college and being a wife/mother/daughter/sister/friend. Sometimes I feel overwhelmed and I am few seconds away from giving up. Nevertheless, then I look at how far I have come, and I just pull myself together. My life is like a sailing ship, no stopping in the middle, even if land is nowhere to be seen, I am sure it will someday. And it will all be worth it.
